Shadi Interview.1

Who is Shadi Samemaleki?

As for my academic journey, I hold a master’s degree in international business and management. I recently completed a comprehensive course at Tampere Applied Sciences University, focusing on international business management and logistics. During this course, I completed a project, and according to this project, I met a member of the Celltech marketing team. I got a chance to have a 3-month internship, and I continued this internship for another 3-month summer job.

It’s worth noting that I come from Iran and have 4 years of work experience in the customer success field, adding a touch of cultural diversity to my experiences.

In the pockets of my leisure hours, I indulge in the pleasure of reading books and tuning into podcasts.

What motivated you to apply for an internship at Celltech?

I was motivated to apply for an internship at Celltech due to the company’s reputation as a leader in the battery industry. Additionally, I was particularly interested in the marketing aspect of the company because I did my international business management and logistics course project for this company and saw it as an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in their field of interest.

As a marketing trainee, what specific projects or tasks have you been involved in during your summer internship?

As a marketing trainee at Celltech, I have been involved in various projects and tasks. One of my main responsibilities was to create a master Excel sheet for all of Celltech Group’s products. This involved gathering and analyzing data, which aligned perfectly with my interests and skills, and I did a project for Celltech Solutions’ LinkedIn account that we called the “LinkedIn takeover project.” During this project, we introduced employees aiming to employee branding and improving engagement on LinkedIn.

How has your experience at Celltech helped you grow both personally and professionally?

Working at Celltech has been a transformative experience for me. I have grown both personally and professionally by honing my data analysis skills, becoming more proficient with marketing tools like Photoshop and InDesign, and gaining valuable insights into marketing strategies and campaigns.

Are there any marketing campaigns or projects you’ve contributed to that you feel particularly proud of? If so, could you share some details?

The marketing campaign that I like is the LinkedIn “Take-over” project at Celltech Solutions. I had the privilege of managing the entire campaign independently, and my colleagues from the marketing team supported me during this campaign, which aimed to introduce and showcase our colleagues’ experiences and careers at the company through a series of engaging videos. The campaign’s success on LinkedIn and the positive response from our colleagues made me delighted. It was a gratifying experience to witness the impact of our efforts in humanizing the company and highlighting the talent within our workforce.

Throughout your internship, have there been any valuable lessons or insights you’ve gained that you believe will shape your future career in marketing?

Over the course of my internship, I’ve garnered invaluable lessons and acquired insights that are poised to mould my future in the realm of marketing. I’ve come to recognize the pivotal role of data-driven decision-making and the formidable influence of creativity when orchestrating impactful marketing campaigns. Furthermore, my involvement with the marketing team and my interactions with colleagues at Celltech have been instrumental in illustrating the significance of teamwork and adept communication within a professional environment.

In addition to these pivotal takeaways, I’ve had the privilege of delving into the intricacies of the battery and industrial sectors. This has provided me with a well-rounded perspective that extends beyond traditional marketing boundaries, a perspective that I’m confident will enrich my approach to crafting innovative and effective marketing strategies.

How was your experience working with the marketing team and other colleagues at Celltech?

My experience working with the marketing team and colleagues at Celltech has been immensely positive. It was my first work experience at Finland, and the company’s culture of collaboration and support allowed me to participate in various marketing projects and contribute my ideas with confidence. Exposure to diverse marketing aspects, coupled with the guidance of colleagues with different skill sets, enriched my learning experience. My time at Celltech has solidified my passion for marketing, and I now feel well-prepared and enthusiastic about pursuing a career in the field.

What are your main interests now and plans for the future?

My main interests now are marketing tasks that involve gathering and analyzing data and graphic design. I plan to further develop my skills in both areas and expand my knowledge of marketing strategies and techniques. As for the future, I aspire to pursue a successful career in marketing.

Thank you, Shadi for your contribution and we wish you good luck with your adventure ahead!
